The Lompoc Public Library System received an additional grant from the California State Library to bring back the popular Zip Books program after a seven-month hiatus. If a book or audiobook is requested that the library does not have, the library will attempt to purchase the item and have it shipped directly to the person making the request.

Books borrowed through the Zip Books program can be returned to the library like other books borrowed from the library.

Lompoc Library Director Sarah Bleyl said the Zip Books program greatly expands the library’s offerings.

“We are thrilled to have Zip Books returning to our Lompoc library,” Bleyl said. “This program has been a huge success over the past four years, and we know our community members appreciate the ability to request almost any book they’re looking for.”

Funding for Zip Books is provided by the State of California, administered by the California State Library.
