Writer Tess Gerritsen will speak and sign books at Left Bank Books
The public is invited to a free conference and a signing session with New York Times Best-selling thriller writer Tess Gerritsen on Tuesday, August 16 at 7 p.m.
With over 40 million copies sold, Gerritsen is widely known for her Rizzoli and islands novels, which inspired the hit TNT television series that aired for seven seasons. After a five-year absence, iconic duo Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles return in Gerritsen’s new novel, Listen to me. This event is free, but reservations are required (207.338.9009 or info@leftbankbookshop.com). Masks are very popular, regardless of vaccination status.
Left Bank Books is at 109 Church Street in Belfast city centre, and there is ample free parking in front of the store and in land adjacent to the city.
Praise for Listen to me is universal:
“The Rizzoli and Isles books are beloved by many, including me; the women’s warm, intricate friendship and keen sense of inquiry remain, on their 13th release, an absolute pleasure to keep readers company.” —The New York Times
“The suspense doesn’t get any smarter than this.” —Lee Child
“Tess Gerritsen’s clever storylines and medical knowledge give her thrillers that extra edge. Expect a white fist bump. —Paula Hawkins
Boston homicide detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles are embroiled in what appears to be the completely senseless murder of a widow and nurse who was universally beloved by her neighbors. As the two women follow several leads, they eventually connect the murder to the hit-and-run victim months earlier, but that only blurs the case.
Meanwhile, Jane’s mother, Angela, worries about the changes she sees in the neighborhood Jane grew up in. Of Reviews of Kirkus: “Angela doesn’t understand why the parents of a missing teenager seem so indifferent or why the new couple opposite never seem to leave the house. Tensions mount as Angela’s vigilance leads her to the wrong conclusions and puts her in personal danger. Gerritsen moves smoothly from one complex plot to the next as the action comes to a surprising conclusion. Newcomers will find this entrance easily accessible.
Listen to me is Gerritsen’s most accessible, intimate and nuanced novel to date, depicting the strained and dynamic relationships between mothers and daughters.
Best-selling author Gerritsen is also a doctor, bringing first-hand knowledge of emergency and autopsy rooms to his novels. As an anthropology student at Stanford University, she cataloged centuries-old human remains and continues to travel the world, driven by her fascination with ancient cultures and bizarre natural phenomena.
Copies of Listen to me ($28) are now available for purchase at the bookstore.
