The years of study of Victor Hugo are very important, while he studied law at the University of Paris, he founded the journal “The Literary Curator”; between 1822 and 1827, he published his book of poetry “Various Odes and Poetry”; his first novel, “Han of Iceland”, and his first piece, titled “Cromwell”.

Victor Hugo was one of the few men of his time to give women a voice and to speak out against the unjust treatment to which society at the time subjected them. “It is difficult to make man happy with the suffering of women,” he wrote in a letter to Léon Richer, creator of the Association for Women’s Rights (1869).
