Are Sheffield United about to have another young international on their books?
According to reports in West Africa, 20-year-old goalkeeper Jordan Yamoah Amissah is being watched by Ghana for a possible call-up.
The German-born Ghanaian is on a list of goalkeepers currently being watched as the Black Stars look to find a new number one.
Current shot-stopper Richard Ofori is struggling with injuries and substitute Jojo Wollacott has failed to impress.
Other goalkeepers tried to fill the void, but the performances were disappointing and this led the coaching staff to review their goalkeeping setup.
Coach Richard Kingson recently said that up to 15 shooters were being watched and Ghanasoccerne.com claims that Amissah is one of those.
After spending time in the junior ranks at Bochum, Schalke and Borussia Dortmund, Amissah joined Sheffield United in 2018.
He was recently on loan at Spennymoor United and was a regular for the Under-23s, helping them win the league title last season.
He has traveled with the first team this season and was with the traveling squad for the 1-0 win at Fulham in December.
United have a host of young players in their academy who already have international honors at junior level, with Will Osula the latest after being called up to Denmark from the Under-19s.
And Amissah might just be next.
