JUARE (Joint United Action for Resilience in Emergencies), a theatrical genre in which disaster management methods were presented very effectively, entered Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records after being put staged simultaneously in 206 venues across the district by schoolchildren on World Environment Day on June 5. Apart from this, it was organized at 14 locations in six other districts – Mandi, Bilaspur, Chamba, Una, Sirmaur and Hamirpur. The district administration had set a goal to train 25,000 people simultaneously by staging a play together for entry into the Book of Records of Asia and India. However, the data collected revealed that 61,498 people participated in the event.

A program was organized to celebrate the occasion at Dev Sadan here today. Minister of Education Govind Singh Thakur was the chief guest and Kamal Kishore, Member Secretary of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), was the special guest on the occasion. The Chief has awarded prizes to various schools and panchayats under the JUARE program. The NCC cadets presented the JUARE act on this occasion.

The minister said that the possibility of disaster cannot be avoided, but with proper knowledge of disaster management, loss of life and property due to disaster can be minimized. He said: “The JUARE programme, launched as a campaign in Kullu district, is an important program based on community participation with the aim of creating awareness of the disaster and training the public in rescue and disaster relief arrangements. time of disaster. .”

Kishore commended the efforts of the district administration to launch JUARE which is directly linked to disaster related issues in the country. He said NDMA Chairman Prime Minister Narendra Modi had provided 10-point guidelines on disaster management and JUARE covers most of them. He said that efforts would also be made to promote this program in other parts of the country.

Kullu District Magistrate Prashant Sirkek said 61,498 people attended the event on June 5, after which it was registered in the registers of Asia and India. He said it was the first time that so many people had been trained simultaneously. He said that JUARE is a unique initiative of District Disaster Management Kullu aimed at raising public awareness in dealing with various types of calamities and avoiding disaster losses. Its aim is also to create a local task force made up of local people, including women and children, he added.
