Exclusive: Critical review of Educart books for Term-2 counseling of CBSE classes 10 and 12

Over the past two academic sessions there have been quite a few changes in the CBSE curriculum and in the chalkboard model. However, as the sample documents for Semester 2 are expected, it is still not clear whether the jury’s exams are 100% based on multiple choice questions or combined with objective and subjective questions. Fuss is starting to build up among students for suitable study material, which now needs to be 100% compliant with the latest changes.
Over the past couple of years, we’ve heard that Educart’s reference books are popular enough for both CBSE and ICSE boards.
There is no doubt that these books are now preferred by most CBSE and ICSE students today. We have therefore decided to take a closer look at the content of the last question banks in Quarter 2 of Educart for grades 10 and 12 based on the following parameters.
- Physical research: Our in-house subject matter experts have verified the content of these books for accuracy, presentation and relevance.
- Online presence: Amazon and Flipkart reviews say a lot about an online product. So we recorded them over time.
- Reviews on e-commerce sites: We’ve also looked at the reviews students and educators are now leaving on Amazon, Flipkart, Quora, and Brainly.
- Survey: Finally, we sat down with a few teachers from top CBSE schools to talk about their experience with Educart books in general and as it relates to Semester 2.

Read below to find out what we found.
1. Relevance to the latest CBSE changes
CBSE has provided several guidelines (through circulars and webinars) on how to create questions that follow competency-based education. Recently, it has also been said that the sample materials for Quarter 2 can include both objective and subjective questions to assess students’ knowledge and skills instead of their rote memorization skills.
Thus, in order for a practice material book to be good enough, editors should be aware of these guidelines and incorporate such questions into their resources. In addition, these books should now include questions that can test various skills in students.
Educart book review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- In the two CBSE Term 2 question banks for class 10 and class 12, we noticed a variety of questions in each chapter, including objective questions (MCQ, autonomous VSA, etc.) and subjective questions (autonomous, diagram / table / situation / Questions based on cases, A / R, Long answer, etc.)
- They have a separate section for skill-based questions (objective + subjective) which can assess students’ skills, abilities and knowledge instead of their rote memorization skills.
Educart’s question banks are 100% based on the latest guidelines and we hope they will include future changes to Term 2 in their books as well.

2. Number of practical questions
Question bank books should be designed to justify their name with a question bank. There should be a collection of different types of new CBSE model questions (at least 10-25 each) in each chapter.
Educart book review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- As noted, the Educart question banks have in fact included over 300 questions in their language books (English and Hindi) and over 500-600 questions in their main subject books (math, science, OSH).
- There are resolved examples, many questions in the exercises, and even unresolved questions for further practice (with solutions on their website).
- After checking with the papers from the previous year and sample papers, we found that these books also included some of the most important questions from the Class 10 and 12 curricula.
It has been said that over 40-50% of the questions in these books appear in Board exams and we have to say, WE AGREE.

3. Quality of questions and solutions
The quality of the questions is an essential thing to focus on in a question bank. Students and even teachers look to these books for their final blackboard preparation. Even if the theory is rare, the quality of the questions and their solutions must be there.
Educart book review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- We really appreciate the way Educart has given solutions and detailed explanations for almost all of the issues resolved.
- The language is easy to understand and fully relevant to the subjects included in the 2021-2022 reduced curriculum for grades 10 and 12.
With these detailed explanations and solutions, students can easily remember the NCERT topics related to the questions asked. This feature adds more quality to the appeal of reference books.

4. Affordable for everyone
Sometimes the cost of a book is actually the only factor that some students and teachers don’t buy. They are looking for an affordable price with as many useful features as possible. So a Q2 question bank priced at 200 with enough quality questions, theories, and explanations is definitely worth it for students interested in final practice material for Board exams.
Educart book review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Most Educart question banks for grades 10 and 12 are available for purchase under 175.
With up to 500+ questions in most subjects and multiple features compliant with the latest CBSE curriculum, they’re worth the price.

To our surprise, Educart exceeded our expectations in all search parameters for their Term 2 question banks. If today, they have earned a name so well, we can see how they offer so many features to really affordable prices. From our point of view, they are completely reliable for Term 2 Class 10 and 12 Board exams.
