Gabor MateThe latest book in “The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness and Healing in a Toxic Culture” is enjoying phenomenal acclaim. Over the past week, it has outsold all books sold in Canada – fiction and non-fiction – except “Fairy Tale”, Stephen Kinghis new novel. “The Myth of Normal” debuts this week at No. 1 on our Health & Fitness list, joining “When the Body Says No” (at No. 3) and “In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts” (at No. 10). ), two of his previous books dealing with mental health issues such as stress and addiction and their effects on the body.
Books of poetry rarely make it to the best-seller list, unless they are by Rupi Kaur, which transitioned from Instagram success to the mainstream book industry about seven years ago. The Brampton poet’s fourth book, “Healing Through Words,” debuts this week at No. 8 on the Canadian novels list.
